The Magnanimous Journey Of Our Mammoth…! [PART-4]

From all this hullabaloo we forwarded towards Rishikesh via Haridwar amidst taking dips where ever possible stopping for refreshments at Khatauli & Roorkee, from here on the landscape gradually changed we made our way through Rajaji National Park and we were lucky enough to spot a huge cluster of mammoths but they crossed the road in a hurry just leaving behind one which GC has captured in its camera from there the winds were quite merry but heavily laden with dust but that is very much man made all the destruction of the banks of the rivers done on the name of progress, the huge round off pebbles were lying down hither and thither which just made me restless and the thought haunted me what if I could hire a truck and border my house with these natural elements as they were being devoured down by the devils called crushers into more simpler forms for construction. To hell with construction how much is how much? I don’t understand, at last we reached Rishikesh checked into a high profile hotel but the magical part is that it was just next to the banks of Ganga, just few steps and there you are in the lap of river Ganga, even the rippling sound of the waves could be heard from our room it was that magical…

We unpacked ourselves and yes we first of all rested our ‘Mammoth’ oh well that’s our GC’s vehicle Mahindra XUV 500 and that’s our baby we love it like anything and yes it’s made for these adventurous journeys only and this kind of vehicle is the ultimate comfort, of course on the way GC had to do its stuff which it did successfully as fast as we could we freshened up and rushed towards Laxman Jhula and Ram Jhula after completing the ‘Ganga Aarti’ but yes along with it educating people about the ‘Ganga Abhiyan’ related to its conservation and water purification even had heated up discussion with few pilgrims when we said no to polythene while they were throwing ‘puja samagri’ of their homes in the water, how ridiculous is that your home discarded things you are throwing in Ganga after so much exaggerated participation at ‘Ganga Aarti’ that’s diplomatic even but anyways our points won the debate as GC knows its but right the ultimate and for sure it does not preach on diplomacy…
